Course Overview
The AHA ACLS course builds on the foundation of lifesaving BLS skills, emphasizing the importance of continuous, high-quality CPR. This advanced course highlights the importance of high-performance team dynamics and communication, systems of care, and immediate post-cardiac arrest care.
ACLS also covers airway management and related pharmacology. It involves learning via high-fidelity simulated clinical scenarios (Megacodes).
Participants must hold a valid/current BLS Provider Card to enroll in the ACLS course. ECG interpretation skills are also highly recommended.
Advanced Curriculum
- Basic Life Support skills review
- Recognition and early management of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Recognition and early management of peri-arrest conditions (bradycardia)
- Airway management & Related Pharmacology
- Management of ACS (Acute Coronary Syndromes) and Stroke
- Effective communication as a member and leader of a resuscitation team

Healthcare professionals who either direct or participate in the management of cardiopulmonary arrest or other cardiovascular emergencies.
