Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about AHA Certification, payments, and course details.

Is this certification internationally recognized?
+
We connect you with authorized AHA Training Centers; certificates are issued by the authorized center after course completion.
How long is the BLS and ACLS certificate valid for?
+
Both BLS and ACLS Provider cards are valid for 2 years from the date of the course. You will need to take a renewal course before the expiration date to maintain your certification.
What happens if I fail the exam?
+
Don’t worry. We have a Free Remediation Policy. If you are unable to pass the written exam or skills test, we will schedule a remediation session within 30 days at no extra cost. However, if you miss the remediation or fail again, a re-registration fee applies. Please see our Terms & Conditions.
Can I take ACLS without doing BLS?
+
No. A valid, current BLS Provider certification is a mandatory prerequisite for the ACLS course. High-quality CPR is the foundation of ACLS, and you must demonstrate competency in BLS skills to succeed in ACLS.
Do I need to study before coming to the course?
+
Yes, it is highly recommended. Upon registration, you will be guided on how to access the provider manual. For ACLS specifically, you must be proficient in reading ECG rhythms and basic pharmacology before attending the class, as the course pace is fast.
Is lunch provided during the training?
+
Yes, we provide tea breaks and a standard lunch for all full-day course participants. Please let us know in advance if you have specific dietary restrictions.
How do I verify my eCard?
+
AHA eCards are digital. Once you pass, you will receive an email from the AHA. You can claim your card and verify it anytime at heart.org/mycards using your unique code.
